Dear Readers,I was asked by The Cahoon Museum in Cotuit to paint something with the theme of food.
The museum is going to give a portion of the money made from the sale of these paintings to the Family Pantry in Harwich, an organization that helps the poor. I love apple pie(So does my husband whose nickname is Mac. Could there be a connection there?) Ever since I saw the DVD , "The Secret", I decided to have a symbol that meant prosperity to me. I chose the symbol of an apple because to me an apple is not only the symbol of health but also of wealth. I feel to be wealthy, one needs to be healthy. And then I met a psychic while waiting for my car to be serviced. I don't know how we got on the subject but she suggested that I put a word hidden in my painting. I always liked the way the New Yorker cartoonist,Al Hirschfield, put his daughter's name "Nina", hidden in his caricatures. So in this Apple Pie acrylic painting (24" x 24") I put the word"love", Can you find it? The exhibit at the museum will be up until April 13th. http://www.cahoonmuseum.org
